Situation: Jim and Monica have just left the performance of “Äida”.

JIM:

Wasn’t THAT the worst performance of an opera that you have ever seen?

MONICA:

Yes, definitely!…And I have never seen people walking out in the middle of a performance before this.

JIM:

They definitely should’ve rehearsed a lot longer before performing.

MONICA:

Well, they’re only amateurs after all. The orchestra was a little dissonant at times, too.

JIM:

A little!!! My niece and nephew are only six and eight years old but they are better musicians than the people in this orchestra.

MONICA:

Now Jim, don’t be cruel. Have you made any plans for the rest of the evening?

JIM:

Yes, first I plan to apologize for having invited you to this disaster ( he points to the theater) and take you to a first class restaurant to make up for it.

MONICA:

Well, FIRST, there is no need to apologize and second I have a surprise. My cousin Jaime is visiting and he wants to meet us at “Mary’s Pizza Parlor” at 10:15 and I’m inviting. Can you come?

JIM:

Of course!
